Frequently Asked Questions

So you've got some questions? Well, so does half the population. Here's some of the few things I've been asked. Ok, so not really, but even I know that there's some questionable things on this site and here I can at least shed some light on a few things. If you have questions I haven't answered here, please e-mail me. Like what a lot of people heard in elementary school, there really isn't such a thing as a stupid question. You never know if someone else has the same question, right? Ok... I'll shut up now... really...

¤ Why the funny name? ¤
Vampyr Dust was something I came up with when I was searching for my niche in the Buffy Online Universe. I use the Olde English spelling of "Vampire" because I prefer the archaic spelling as opposed to the modernization. As for the "Dust" part, well, in BtVS when you slay a vampire what happens to it? I always thought that was a cool effect, so "Vampyr Dust" was created from my insane mentality.

¤ Will you post my story? ¤
I am sorry, but my archive isn't just for everyone. Nor is it just for my own fiction. This is a haven for only the best. About 10% of the stories I have read in the last few months have made it here... Fiction posted on Fanfiction.net doesn't really have to meet any requirements, so please go there if you are looking for a place to post. Stories here are strictly for those whom I feel have an outstanding grasp of writing.

¤ Biased much? ¤
Not really. It's my site, my rules. You see, I'm a recent graduate with a BA in English with a focus on Creative Writing. I had to read tons of old "classics" and I worked very hard on these. Byron, Coleridge, Wordsworth, Austen, Radcliffe, Milton? Those were just a FEW of the many authors I've had to deal with for the past four years. Needless to say, I have high expectations now. I read fanfiction to relax, but because my mind's been twisted so much by the rules of English Grammer, I tend to over analyze and edit when reading even the simplest things.

¤ So... what would get you to post my story? ¤
My time is limited, however I'm always looking for new stories to read. If you e-mail me or post in the guestbook a story you think I should read and a link to where it's posted, I'll get to it eventually. I love Spike, but I really love Spike and Buffy. I read any rating.

¤ What's your sick obsession with Spike all about? ¤
The coat? The hair? Maybe even the sardonic wit? Basically, I find I identify with Spike on so many levels. I'm not going into my past history here, but when I watched Buffy for the first time, I liked the character of Spike. When I first saw the episode "Fool for Love," I fell in love with Spike. We're both Love's Bitches, and we're both man enough to admit it. Ok, so I'm a woman, but I'll have you know I'm more manly than some of my male friends. Anyway, I believe in the Redemption of Spike. He's a remarkable man in my eyes... Angel's path of redemption is his curse. Spike's path of redemption is his heart. He's gone against his very nature because of his love and I believe that places him much higher in the grand scheme of life than the "poof with the nancy boy hair."

¤ Is 'Redd Summers' you're real name? ¤
Of course not, it's my pen name. And yes, it is supposed to have two d's on Redd.
