August, 2002   |   "Peacemaker Chronicles Book III: The Peacemaker Prophesy" by Nimue

I encountered Nimue's wonderful "Peacemaker Chronicles" series on my sister site, Eternal Balance, and fell in love. I had seen Nimue's series on ff.net but since it was a "Buffy has a baby" storyline, I didn't give it the time of day. And I regret being so closed minded and not giving it a chance then, because it really is a wonderful storyline! While the whole story is beautifully written and original, I feel "The Peacemaker Prophesy" is the best so far in her series. She not only developes Buffy and Spike's relationship, but that of the Vampire and the Slayer as well! Nimue grasps the intricacies of their complex relationship and developes every little detail fully. And she also shows that, while they have a baby to take care of, Buffy and Spike still keep thier fiery passion for each other. I'm very pleased to make her the first to recieve the passion award. I hope this story never ends, though I know that's a bit impossible.

April, 2004  |   "Walking After Midnight" by Chelle

This story is amazing. While it has the sob factor of "Oh God, Buffy's been injured so badly she can't walk anymore" as the main premise, it reaches far deeper. Could you actually picture Buffy being able to cope with paralyzation? Well, Chelle definately works with how I would envision such a situation. While this is a major accident, she throws Spike into the mix with being the one being who'll help her out the most...by not mollycoddling her with whispered lies and comforts. He gives her as much hell as he did when she was walking around! Of course, in true Spuffyness, our heroes eventually come together, but it's one hell of a turvey-topsy ride getting there!
