Here's the deal: I have 15 challenges listed below. In exchange for using one of the challenges below, you send me a challenge to answer. Once I have the challenge you've sent me, I'll take your challenge off this page and replace it with a new challenge. I will not post the fic you have written, but if you want I can link to it on a seperate page. Remember to put the challenge in your fic header because I will not save it. And if more than one person asks for the challenge before I can check my e-mail, I'll let all the people asking for it have it.
Now, as for the challenges sent to me, there are a few restrictions.
- No NC-17 for het fics, no NC-17/R (unless you want an R rating for a lot of violence) for slash fics. For slash, depending on how comfortable I am with the pairing, I may go into an R but be prepared for PG-13 at the highest.
- No rape fics. I can tackle other sensitive issues, just not that one.
- I'll take just about any pairing but no Lindsey slash fics and no incestual pairings (including but not limited to Dawn/Buffy, Connor/Jasmine, Connor/Angel, etc).
- If you want a minor character to be a major player in the fic, be prepared for an e-mail asking who the character is, since I boycotted a few season of both shows; I may have no clue who they are!
- I will take certain crossovers. If you ask for a crossover fic, ask me first if it's something I've seen and I feel comfortable writing a crossover with. If not, have another challenge handy.
- And finally, I can write in just about any genre, but I won't write all-human fics.
And now, on to the challenges!
#1 - The Attitude Change Challenge
Instead of Faith being all bad ass when coming to Sunnydale, she's very frightened at first, due to Kakistos. As the Scoobies get to know her better, they find her to be a lot like the old Willow, and take steps to help her stand up for herself more and feel better about herself. The only two requirements are that there should still be a Faith/Xander hook-up (though if it leads to a relationship that's up to you) and Willow should become sullen and moody.
#2 - The Screw The World! Challenge
Buffy has had enough. She decides that if Faith wants to be the only Slayer than she can have the job (this must be set at some point where Faith is free, or before her time in jail, but it has to start during a pre-"Chosen" episode). But in order to stop having Slayer powers, she must go on a quest and fight five demons, losing to each of them (but not just letting them win, either). Meanwhile, Faith has to help whoever she's chosen to be around stop an Apocalypse, and she's not sure she really has what it takes. The only requirement is that Faith reflects on what being the only Slayer is really going to mean.
#3 - The Super-Giles Challenge
Giles, by some fluke, ends up holding the amulet that was given to Angel by Lilah during the fight with The First's army. It starts working like it did with Spike, only Giles doesn't die: he gains super powers. How would this affect the end of "Chosen"? Would Giles still decide to run the Watcher's Council? Would he fight and train Slayers alongside Buffy? This leaves a lot of possibilities. REQUIREMENTS: the super powers Giles recieves must be permanent; increased strength must be a power; there should be a Giles pairing.
#4 - The Malfoy Madness Challenge
Not often is it that I ask for crossovers, but having just seen Jason Isaacs on an episode of "The West Wing" reminded me that I absolutely adore him as Draco Malfoy's father, Lucius Malfoy, in the Harry Potter series. In this challenge, Draco is sent to live among Muggles without his wand for one year as punishment for a bad deed he's done at Hogwarts. (so this will take place in a universe set after book 5, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix). The only thing he can do is choose the place where he's sent, and his father suggests Sunnydale. Once Draco arrives, however, he finds that Sunnydale is now a big hole in the ground. He needs to go someplace else, and is drawn by... This is where you fill in the blank. REQUIREMENTS: Draco must initially meet a Scooby or a member of Angel Investigations excluding Illyria, Buffy, Angel or Giles (he can meet any of these four later, however) soon after leaving Sunnydale; he must begin to question his father because of something said to him; Lucius must try to convince Draco why Voldemort must reign; Draco needs to make a major life decision at the end of the fic (good or bad, it's up to you).
#5 - The Darla-less Challenge
How would BtVS have turned out if Darla had never been turned? Pick one episode to rewrite (the earlier, the better) and tell what had changed. The Master is still around, as is Luke, but there is no Darla, Angel(us), Drusilla, Spike, Penn...you get the idea. Some ideas to throw out: Would Acathla still have been brought to life, and if so, by whom? Would Faith have gotten a chance at redemption? Would Doyle and Cordelia have met? Would Buffy and Xander have hooked up instead of Buffy and Angel? And for that matter, would Anya ever have appeared to grant Cordelia's wish? Would Jenny have come to Sunnydale at all? There's a lot of potential, and feel free to rewrite more than one episode.
#6 - The Toddler Connor Challenge
Pretend, for a moment, that Wesley never heard the prophecy "And the father will kill the son." Pretend that instead of handing Connor over to Holtz, something else (your choice) happened to Holtz instead; it can still cause Angel harm, but it can't involve Connor. Since Connor wouldn't have grown up as quickly as he did, by the time the series ended, he'd be only a toddler. Pick an episode that had Older Connor in it and rewrite it, or an aspect of it, that shows what a difference there would have been to have a toddler running around.
#7 - The Covered-Up Feelings Challenge
As based on certain episodes in season 5 of A:tS, we have been informed that Buffy no longer has the love, adoration or even lust she had for either Spike or Angel. What if this wasn't true, but Buffy lied about her true feelings in order to protect both men? You may choose to pair her up with whomever you wish, or pair the men together, or pair all three of them together. REQUIREMENTS: The person left alone (unless you choose a threesome) must make a good point about why they would have worked better; the reason Buffy lied about her feelings must be fully explained (and it must also be plausible); Dawn must be around in some way; no Andrew.
#8 - The Vision Challenge
We know that Doyle was having visions before Angel met him. What if one of those visions had to do with Hemry High School and the students there being attacked by vampires? Have a fic where Doyle tries to help and inadvertently changes destiny as he meets a pre-Slayer Buffy in Los Angeles. REQUIREMENTS: Buffy still gets called as a Slayer, but Doyle helps her; Angel and Whistler don't meet, but Angel meets Doyle earlier; have Doyle be a teacher or worker at the high school. You can make this fic as short or as long as you want.
#9 - The Not-So-Friendly Competition Challenge
At Angel Investigations, the race is on to solve the newest case. The only problem is, the AI team is divided, and it's boys against girls. Is the case going to get solved? Who will win? What lengths will be gone to for victory? REQUIREMENTS: This must be set at some point when there are at least two females involved with AI, so preferably season 1 after Kate's introduction and before she and Angel have their falling out or season 4 before Cordelia goes comatose and Jasmine arrives; you may bring in minor characters who have been used in the series to help; one side does win but at a cost; if you choose season 4, then Lorne is not on either side.
#10 - The Pregnant Anya Challenge
With the amount of sex it was implied that Anya and Xander were having it was a wonder she never got pregnant. But what if she did? Both were fully aware of the dangers in Sunnydale...would they want to raise their child there or would they leave? Would they have gotten married? Would the child have been special thanks to Anya having been a demon? REQUIREMENTS: Set this at any point past their season 4 hook-up but before the wedding fiasco; Willow must be shocked and angry (this can fade after time); Giles must be asked to be a godfather; a decision must be made on whether they stay in Sunnydale or not by the time Anya has the child.
#11 - The Coup Of Hell Challenge
We know Darla and Angel have both been to Hell, and we can safely assume some of our other favorite villians have been sent there as well. What if one of them staged a coup while there and took over? What changes would they make? And most importantly, do they use their new position to get revenge? If you choose Angel, he must be Angel, not Angelus.
#12 - The Drabble Series Challenge
Create a ten piece series made out of drabbles. REQUIREMENTS: Drabbles must be 100 words each, must include a UC ship, set post-"Chosen" with references to at least two characters in "A:tS."
#13 - The Rubber Ducky, You're The One Challenge
Spike will admit one thing to no one: he has a rubber ducky. Unfortunately during his stint at Giles' home, someone finds out and threatens to tell it to everyone, thus giving another blow to his ego, unless Spike does something for them. REQUIREMENTS: The rubber duck in question can be any color but must have devil horns, Spike must sulk at one point and bluster on that he doesn't care if everyone knows, the person holding the information ransom must get their just desserts.
#14 - The Balancing Act Challenge
In season 4, it was obvious that Xander had no intention of going back to school...or so we all thought. Write a fic in which Xander is taking a night class so that he can get a promotion in the construction company where he works and trying to keep it a secret from Anya. REQUIREMENTS: Xander must actually do moderately well in the class (instilling a sense of pride in him), someone else (not Anya, Buffy or Willow) must find out.
#15 - The OMG, You're A What? Challenge
Suggested by Aaronlisa
Write a fic in which Dawn finds out about her sister being the Slayer. Requirements: must be set sometime between Seasons Two & Four. Must include a conversation between Buffy & Joyce and Joyce & Dawn (the conversation can be between the three of them). I'd like to see it just the Summers family and it should be as close to canon as possible.
Sometimes, you just need a kickstart to get your fic going. And so, here's some help: opening paragraphs to use in a fic. All I ask is that you credit the writer of the paragraph in your fic somewhere, and maybe send them a copy of the finished work (or you can send me a link and I'll post it under the paragraph you used).

#1 - Unknown Memories by Ragna
The moment she touched his hand, a flood of memories raced through her. They couldn't be hers or his...neither of them had ever met before. But there they were: memories of the two of them fighting side by side, against vampires and other beasts.
#2 - Window To The Past by Ragna
Buffy looked into a surface as clear as a window. In fact, it almost looked as though she was peering through a window at the fateful night when she lost her virginity. It seemed almost as though everything that had happened before then was really of no importance. For the first time, she saw what happened to Angel as he rose from bed and went out into the rain, as he became Angelus again. There was no sound, but she didn't need to hear him to know he was in pain.
#3 - Sunnydale Is... by Ragna
Sunnydale, you see, had been geographically placed in an area with forty-three different churches (forty-four if you counted the supposedly sunken church), a high school, two colleges (though later it seems that there is only one, but that is a different story involving sorority boys and sacrifices, and I'm rather sure it's already been written), a bus depot, a beach, a museum or two and, of course, one solitary Starbucks.
#4 - Interning At Wolfram & Hart by Ragna
It wasn't until Connor Reilly started his brief internship at the law firm that he began to have the strange dreams. During the summer, his father had arranged for Connor to have a one month internship at one of the largest law firms in the city, Wolfram & Hart. It turned out his consulting firm was one of their clients, and a woman he had met, Eve, had offered his son an internship before he went off to college. It sounded like a dream come true, but if Connor had known about the dreams he'd end up having, he'd have turned it down.
#5 - Four Against The World by Ragna
It wasn't that hard to split the two of them. There's some sort of Indian spell for it. Not Native American, I mean actual Indian. That was a mouthful to try, you know. I felt bad for Willow; she said she almost dislocated her jaw at one point. So it was the end of the world. Again. I sound like it's a commonplace event in my life, don't I? But for once, there was nothing I could do to stop it. It was just Willow, Faith, Angel...and Angelus. Willow was smart; she kept Angelus on a tight magical leash. One screw-up and he'd get the feeling he was standing in a puddle of water getting electrocuted. And the neat thing was that he was expendable! Always wanted to see Angelus dead, and now I don't have to worry about Buffy missing her "soulmate" because we had to dust him for the line of duty.
#6 - The Fake World by Ragna
The world that everyone lives in now isn't the real world. It isn't like the Matrix, where there's another race controlling our happiness. And it isn't like the Wishverse that Cordelia told us about...it's just a different Wishverse. After Sunnydale collapsed, there were choices about things I could do and places I could go. I wanted to go somewhere primitave. Could you imagine me, Xander Harris, going somewhere where Playstation 2's were a foreign concept?
#7 - Vampire Brat by Ragna
Spike couldn't handle it anymore. Not even having Red take the little vampire brat off her hands helped. It was only temporary, since Willow and her girlfriend were there to talk to Wesley before jetting back to Rio De Janerio; his saving grace was that the new item of Wesley and Fred decided to go shopping at the Beverly Center.
