It was weird, sitting in the sunlight with Angel, eating a sandwich at the local cafe. Dawn was enjoying the moment, to be sure, but there was still a sense of...wrongness.
Only a few months ago, he'd been a vampire fighting Hell on earth in Los Angeles. Now he was human and dating her sister, since, Dawn reasoned, nothing would stop true love.
Of course, considering she herself was dating Spike...
"Everytime I fall in love I turn around and find my heart face down," she said, wondering what Angel would have to say in response.
He was shocked she thought she was in love with Spike; she'd guessed he'd feel that way. Then he said it wasn't always a bad thing to be in love, and it took work to make it work, and that if Spike ever hurt her he'd ram a railroad spike up his ass.
And Dawn relaxed. Lunch out with her sister's boyfriend could provide some positive outcomes...
