As long as Fred held the bug, no one really wanted to get close to her, but, because Wesley loved her, he did.
“You’re sure it’s dead?”
“Would I lie to you?”
“Well…”
Fred swatted him with her free arm. “I love you like pancakes, Wesley, but…” She stopped. “Haven’t said that in a while.”
“Said what?” Spike said, turning around from the passenger seat.
“’Love you like pancakes.’ Used to say it to my Daddy all the time.” She smiled. “Anyway, sooner we get to the lab—“
“Sooner you’ll get that stinking bug out of my car?” Angel said.
“Yes, Angel,” she said, laughing.
