"No!"

Buffy sat upright in her bed, clearing her head.

"You all right?" the male next to her asked in a sleep tinged voice.

Buffy shook her head. "You know, I just had the weirdest dream."

"You did?" he asked, turning towards her. "What happened?"

"Well..."

Captain Lindsey McDonald, decorated member of the British Navy, could not contain his enjoyment at returning to his betrothed, the fair Lady Cordelia Chase.

Now all he had to do was to get past Admiral Rupert Giles without being handed yet another mission.

He walked resolutely toward the Naval Port, prisoner in hand. The prisoner was Wesley Wyndham-Price, a former manor lord who had escaped numerous gambling debts by faking his death and turning to piracy.

Maybe Admiral Giles would give him a vacation for this apprehension, since Mr. Wyndham-Price owed the Admiral money.

"I have a prisoner," Captain McDonald told the man stationed outside Admiral Giles' office. "I also have express orders to turn him over to the Admiral immediately."

The man stationed there, Alexander Harris, was an ex-beau of Lady Chase. But instead of jealousy towards Captain McDonald, he held admiration for him.

Alexander straightened to full attention. "You shall be allowed entry at once," he said, smiling slightly before opening the door to Admiral Giles' office.

Captain McDonald smiled back. "Thank you."

"Not a problem."

Admiral Giles' office was dark, filled with darkly stained heavy wood furniture, very little lighting, and no windows.

"Captain, did you retrieve Wyndham-Price yet?" the Admiral asked without lifting his head from one of the many musty books he was fond of.

"Aye, sir. Prisoner is in the room."

The Admiral looked up. "Wyndham-Price, you owe me a lot of money. What's to keep me from collecting my debt in blood?"

"I know where...where...the pirate Bu...Bu..."

"Buffy Summers?" Captain McDonald prodded.

"Aye, sir. I know where Buffy Sum...Summers is, your kind sirs. She's off the coast of England, planning an attack on boats heading in from the new land."

"America, you mean?" Admiral Giles asked.

"Aye."

Admiral Giles looked at Captain McDonald, then at Wyndham-Price. "Very well. Captain, escort this man to your ship. You will be leaving immediately in search of the pirate Buffy Summers. Take Harris with you."

"But, Admiral...my upcoming wedding..."

"You will be back in time for it. If you work diligently enough." Admiral Giles waved his hand. "That will be all."

Captain McDonald roughly turned Wyndham-Price towards the door. He walked out of the door, opened by Alexander, and grimaced. "Alexander, pack your things. We're off to find Buffy Summers."

Captain Buffy Summers surveyed her newest crew. She wasn't all that happy with what she saw, but there wasn't much of a chance to change her decisions.

She eyed her new partner, the infamous Captain Jack Sparrow, former captain of the Black Pearl. She trusted him about as far as she could throw him, but he had come through in getting the most dependable members of his former crew to come work for her.

For them, she had to remind herself.

And he wasn't prone to mutiny, having been the victim of it before. Every pirate from England to America to the Caribbean knew about the cursed treasure and the former reputation of the Black Pearl, which was now resting on the ocean floor off the southernmost tip of America. They knew he could at least be trusted not to incite mutiny.

She sighed. This was not going to be a very pleasant trip. Thankfully, it was to be her last; after this, Captain Summers would be no more. In fact, Buffy Summers would no longer exist; she had her new name and new identity planned out and all she needed was one more heist to finance it. Then she could return to France and take care of her sister, Dawn.

"Captain?" Jack Sparrow asked. "Are we to be leaving soon?"

"Yes, Jack, soon," she said, sighing again. This was going to be a long voyage, she could tell. "Everyone, on deck! We have a ship to sail!"
