After Rita
Moving Away from New Orleans 2

My little yard. Meagan loved playing out here...and rolling in the dirt!
She doesn't have a place like that at the new place. And oh! The bee I'm holding
is what's leftover from the windsock I had hanging out there before the
hurricane. The rest of the sock is gone, but the bee survived! :o) I couldn't
believe it!

MOLD! Ewwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!! There was a leak from the stripped roof down through
the two floors above me. Because there was no ventilation in the closet, the
mold
spread. And it was starting to get into the rest of my apartment, which is why I
lost my desk.

More mold...

The truck all full! Didn't my dad and brother do an awesome job?

Packing the trunk! My dad is happy to be done!

Me with that silly bee. Gah...look how ooky I look! lol

They're doing repairs! And there's that tape! There were several refrigerators
on the edge of the road that they were throwing out.

At the Starbucks I always stopped at before driving to my parents' house.
I tend to get sleepy before driving. This guy was telling me that he and his
wife lost
almost everything and that she had a baby a few days before the hurricane
evacuation. Small world...turned out she lived in the same apartment complex
as I did before getting married! :o) They were traveling back and forth to
rescue things, and
he was working. She was a nurse at one of the New Orleans hospitals that's still
closed.

There it is! The Starbucks at Gonzales!!! :o) It's right by the outlet. We
stopped here
one last time...I bought everyone coffee and a cookie to thank them for helping!
It's the last
time my parents can help me move...
