I was so excited because today I met some of my closest online friends for the first time, and met Juliet!
We got there at 10.20am but waited (Sitting on the floor because we were so tired - I woke up at 6.30 and couldn't get back to sleep!) until 12am. Juliet was due at 11am but a previous engagement over-ran. When the woman explaining her absence was talking to me, she said "I just got off the phone with Sean Harry-" and I went "I love him!"-he organises events and conventions and he has just the coolest job. She laughed but it was a little embarrassing outburst.
Juliet turned up, she got out the car she was in and looked stunning. She had a short skirt and high heels and revealed to have a VERY good pair of legs!
We got in about 12am and you weren’t allowed to take photos. I bought a beautiful picture of Juliet which she signed with "Isobel, nice meeting you! Juliet Landau". She was incredibly friendly, kind and nice, talking to every single fan.
We talked for quite a while, firstly my friend Dee told her about OWB - my Yahoo group which is how we all met each other, we’re all from different parts of England. We thanked her for being part of what brought us all together and she was like "That’s so cool, that’s great!"
Then it was me and her and she said "Isobel, that’s a pretty name" so I said "Thanks" and she said "I just finished playing a role of a woman called Isobel" so I said "What was that in?" and she goes "A film called Shopping" so I said "I’ll look out for you" and she said "That would be great"
So then me and my friend Amy told her we were going to End Of Days and it was our first convention and she was like "Are you looking forwards to it? I think it’s going to be really fun, lots of us are going to be there," so we said "See you at End Of Days"
We went for lunch talking about how lovely she was. On the way back to the station, me, my dad and Amy walked past the shop and my dad went and talked to some of the organisers - he’d made friends with them while we were queueing, was on a first name basis and George, one of the women there managed to get Juliet to sign my "Angel:The Casefiles" for me for free! I was so happy coz I hadn’t expected to have that done - I brought it just in case. Juliet signed "Isobel. All my best!!! Juliet Landau" on the inside cover
It was a really great experience and I’m definitely going to the Julie Benz/Andy Hallett signing on the 10th - Juliet was such a pleasure to meet and so strikingly beautiful. She lived up to every expectation.
Isie's second story
I was lucky enough to meet Juliet at End of Days
At my Juliet photo shoot, I said "I met you at-" and finishing off my sentence, she said "The Who Shop! How are you honey?". It was great to be recognised by someone as brilliant as Juliet, she looked glamorous, wearing very high-heeled and dressed from head to toe in black. Luckily I wasn’t too much shorter than her and we both grinned broadly for our photo.
Each celebrity took the time to have a small conversation with the attendees of the convention. Juliet Landau chatted for a long time to me, Amy and Dee, recognising us instantly from The Who Shop and talking to us like we were very old friends. Dee mentioned Andy’s drunken antics on the Saturday night (Which Juliet had missed because she had to move all her stuff from her hotel to another because of a flooding, also missing the Fancy Dress competition) and Juliet, amazed, heard about Andy throwing his shoes into the audience and other drunken behaviour. Juliet signed my program from me and we moved onto the next table.
